A theory with possible results

When a leader assumes responsibility of a team, selflessly guiding and promoting individuals, the leader may very well experience self promotion.

As individuals are guided to reach a point where they're capable of guiding themselves, leaders working alongside them will continue being rewarded due to the multidementional expansion of the team. The contiuous promotion of tasks, feed the team with challenges, breading additional leaders who create new ideas to further the growth cycle.

Those who are capable of contributing consistently to this cycle, offer wealth to all who join and co-promote, thus bringing wealth to themselves.

Could it be true, leaders selflessly promoting others experience self promotion, or could it simply be a theory with possible results......I guess the leader must assume responsibility of exploring, her or his, own theory, while guiding, her or his own team.

Growth by retention

Successful leaders retain teams not by accident, they calculate an additional advantage over competitors, and later find themselves enriched by the surrounding troops and allies they so wholeheartedly built. Think big picture while you read this storyline.

"Two colleagues decide they will work as a team, for the company, for their clients, the big picture. Each giving, selflessly to ensure eachothers success, believing that as they continue to work for eachother, others will follow, and it will repeat itself. As they continue building, they realize it's time, for a third to pitch in. The first two discover that their tasks have become simplified, as the addition to the team has started mirroring their efforts. Each hungry to prove their worth, they continue to contribute wholeheartedly to this unstoppable force, they've all, so humbly created. After sometime, the confidence existing within the three pushed for an additional three, totalling six, and after sometime the six became twelve. Creating clearly what their competitors would've called, luck."

This perfect storm was created continuously in growth mode, not by accident, not by luck, but perhaps, retention.

Knowing key motivators = results

Leaders generally build and retain teams for the sake of sequential positive growth.
Knowing an individuals key motivators, (the buttons you push to increase productivity), are useful during pivotal moments where individual productivity and outcome must be favorable.

Leaders who have mastered this skill know how simple yet effective this technique can be.

With an open mind and heart, leaders will uncover what motivates an individual contributor, listening not only to what they initially answer, but listening during open dialogue and rapport building. During these important conversations, leaders will openly listen with full attention, and will uncover what is essential in pushing the right buttons which push an individual to their highest level of performance, being cautious not to push an individual closer to competitors, (the unfavorable outcome). Pushing gently to reach the top, while avoiding cliffs.

Keep this in mind, (long term teams = growth by retention).

Growth by retention? (perhaps a future blog)

Leaders who experience success as a result of knowing an individuals key motivators, will appreciate the dividends and will continue to lead effortlessly, while producing positive results.

The Domino Effect

A leader of a team, an executive, or perhaps a supervisor of a department, a parent, whether in the trenches or above, climbing the ladder sitting in a cubicle, or in all day meetings, working, not working, driving, lunching, networking, presenting, ok, you get my drift.....

Those who are successful, create behaviors in those they mentor, as if they are an artist creating a masterpiece, or a composer creating a symphony. Creating behavior derived of quality and not quantity. Quality and not quantity? Take for example, fine dining in France, Italy, or somewhere along our Southern California coast, by a Chef, who only displays the art of palate, and not a plate full.

Create quality behaviors and not quantity? A definition would make sense, however, with each human being there are variations of definition. I plan not to define at any scheduled time, however will face it daily, as I ask myself at any moment, how I will behave to influence those around me, to behave in a manner that is progressive, forward thinking, unified, with far reaching goals. Creating a behavior that others have no choice but to remember and pass on to others they will mentor. I think you get my drift.......

You decide how others are influenced, and they will decide how to influence others, and in some random way it was created and passed on.

This may change your perception of yourself and how you lead others, thus you will lead and others just may follow.....
